NJ State Police Office of Emergency Management Incident Command System for Emergency Responders--Level 200 (I-200)

This course has been approved for 12.0 elective CEUs for NJ EMTs by the NJ Department of Health--Office of EMS (OEMS).  The National Registry of EMTs and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania accept these credits.  NJ MICU personnel should contact their clinical coordinator for CEU credit.  OEMS only provides EMT elective credit to EMS professionals who take this course in the classroom setting--not over the Internet through FEMA or NFA.

Description

Basic ICS introduces students to the principles associated with the Incident Command System. This course consists of five (5) modules covering: principles and features of ICS; organizational overview; incident facilities; incident resources; and common responsibilities.

After completing the course, participants will be able to:

Per New Jersey Executive Order 50, signed in July 2005,  all first line supervisors, single resource leaders, lead dispatchers, field supervisors, company officers and entry level positions (trainees) on Incident Management Teams and other emergency personnel that require a higher level of ICS training will obtain ICS-200: Basic ICS Basic level, prior to December 31, 2006.

Completion certificates are issued after the course by the NJ State Police Office of Emergency Management.

Prerequisites

Emergency responders who have completed NJSP ICS Level 100 or equivalent (e.g., FEMA I-100).
