This two-day program is widely recognized for at least 12.0 CEUs. However, credit approval for New Jersey paramedics is through awarded your MICU program's clinical coordinator. This program is intended for advanced-level EMS providers and will not offer NJ EMT credit.
This course was developed through a partnership between the American Geriatric Society and the National Council of State EMS Training Coordinators. Encompassing the fastest growing segment of the population in the United States, patients over the age of 65 already make up a high percent of EMS calls. In 2000 12.4% of the US population was over 65, however it is estimated that by the year 2030 the number will grow to over 20%.
